The magazine finally arrived in my mailbox a few days ago. I look forward to the once-a-year sake special - this is the bible of sake!
Today I opened a bottle of Black Phoenix🐤 that I bought last December. It's been almost two years - last time I drank it was in 2019.
It has a gorgeous sweet aroma when poured into the glass - quite fruity on the palate, with a lustrous taste and crispness that is typical of Aizan. In one word: elegant.
It has a rich sweetness and fruity acidity. After the mid-palate, there is a strong pungent and rough taste that lingers on the tongue. The sweet aroma lingers in the mouth afterwards, and the long-lasting aftertaste is good.
It is a sake to be enjoyed on its own without a meal.
