Nanasho, also from Nagano Prefecture, is also fruity, but Gensho has more depth. It has a cohesiveness.
The flavor is layered and elegant.
Nanasho is clean and crisp. Each is delicious.
The aftertaste is also moderately long in relation to the aroma and taste.
It tastes great on its own.
I can't imagine that the elegant Genmai goes well with the popular Katsu-ni.
Is it a good match for simmered pork cutlet?

There is no discrepancy. It is delicious.
The multi-layered flavor of Genmai matches the thick, oily, sweet and spicy pork cutlet stew.
