Aoki Ranjasudo's Ranjasyu. It is said to be a medicinal sake associated with the Asakura clan, a feudal lord in Fukui.
It has a sweet sake aroma, with distinct notes of cinnamon and turmeric. The brewer told us that they use quite a few other Chinese herbs and medicinal herbs.
The taste is quite sweet and the aroma is like eating a spiced curry.
Sake? I thought so, but the brewer told me it was a yakuzen sake, so I had to write about it.
