Gassan is brewed with super soft water, and the lack of gas certainly gives it a soft aftertaste. The softness is directly connected to the ease of drinking, making it a very easy to drink sake despite its 16% alcohol content. What a guy!
Purchased at a sake brewery in Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture. Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture.
You can get brewing water from a faucet on the premises. It is indeed very soft water.
The brewery has a 300-year history, and its trademark was registered before that of Gassan in Tohoku.
This sake is only available at the brewery and some special stores.
