Miyazumi Meizumi brewery is better known for its Sharaku (寫樂) sake, but this local brand is just as good. In my opinion, this Miyazumi is more cost-effective and tastier, costing 3,219 yen for a bottle.
When you open the bottle and pour it into a glass and put your nose close to it, you can smell the sweet aroma of pear and melon. I love Kaiun, so my expectations are high. As soon as I take a sip, the juiciness spreads in my mouth and the umami comes by the time it goes down my throat. The moderate alcohol and the unique sweetness of the raw sake match each other perfectly. It goes well with the fish I had with it, and I couldn't help but smile and say, "Yum! This is a bonanza.
