Akatake is a big part of what made me fall in love with sake. This is my first Natsukasumi. As soon as you open the bottle, you can taste the alcohol. It is fruity and not too sweet. If I had to compare it to a fruit, I would say a pear. The visual effect of the label and bottle also made me think of ramune. I want people who don't have a good image of sake to try it.
I've tried it with ice, and I love it. The alcoholic taste is eased, and the slight sweetness, the fruitiness in the nose, and the coolness from the ice make me look forward to summer. I imagined wanting to do it alone on a hot evening when it was starting to get dark, until dinner was ready. It will definitely be gone by then, though.
I hope this helps those of you who are considering buying one. Delicious.
