We received the Gen no Taki, an unusual Junmai Ginjo that was matured in "Tabloos" barrels, a Scotch whisky used by the Swedish Royal Family! At first glance, I didn't know it was sake and was about to pass it by, but the shop assistant introduced it to me and I decided to buy it right away! Packed in a baby whiskey bottle (200ml), the color and the bottle do not look like sake at all! However, when I opened the bottle and smelled the aroma, I was surprised to find that it had an aroma of caramel and oak, which is unusual for sake. When you take a sip, the sweetness and sourness are not much, but the sticky flavor and slight bitterness that spreads from the center to the back of the bottle will make you feel sharp! And the most comfortable thing is the lingering aroma of the barrel. This is a pleasant aftertaste that has been transferred from the barrels that have been slowly laid down! I found it interesting that this bottle has a stronger whiskey feeling than ordinary sake! Rice polishing ratio 60%, alcohol content 17%.
