Today, we opened a bottle of Drunken Whale Potato Chip Marriage Set from KOIKEYA as a sake that goes well with potato chips.
This junmai ginjo is brewed with Ginpu, Hokkaido's preferred rice for sake brewing. It is a food sake with a clean taste and a touch of acidity. We have had this sake every year recently, but this year's was lighter.
The potato chips are "Bonito Sake-Tobori Flavor". It has a soft aroma of yuzu and a strong aftertaste of saketobori. When paired with sake, it adds a nice umami flavor in addition to the sourness.
The concept of matching sake with food also attracts me to this bottle. Delicious: ‼️
