On my day off, I scoured the internet for information, and after much agonizing at the liquor store, I came across the Hanagaki Junmai Unfiltered Sake with Different Rice Series! I had never had Kame-no-o sake before, so I chose this one!
Fruity aroma coming from the glass...☺️ When you hold it in your mouth...it's sweet! After that, strong acidity, high alcohol and astringency comes and finishes it off! Sweet and spicy! As expected of an 18% sake!
I was actually put off by the price, but after tasting it, I made an immediate decision. I would like to buy other sake rice varieties if I see them.
Kame-no-o, before drinking sake, I had no idea it was active in sake rice. It is mind-boggling to think that if this rice had not been found, Koshihikari would not have been born. I see that it is also in the Gohyakumangoku lineage.
