I met this sake when I went on a trip to Shimane in early spring of this year.
On the first day, we visited Matsue Castle, Lake Shishido and the old city around it (related to Lafcadio Hearn), and on the second day, we went to Izumo Taisha Shrine, Hinomisaki, Kitamura ceramics, etc., and on the last night, we drank it at a tavern near Izumo City Station. We had tempura, salted fish, etc., and it went best with nodoguro (dried nodoguro), and was great with sashimi. It goes best with Japanese food, of course, but this sake is the best with fish. Drinking it reminded me of a strange cloud cloud spider sprouting from behind the shrine (Mt. Yakumo), the Sea of Japan seen from Cape Hinomisaki, the cold wind and the beautiful sky as I watched the sunset over Lake Shishido, and the scary, beautiful and divine Shimane Prefecture behind my eyelids. ☁️
