After going to Bic Camera to buy a new razor blade, I stopped by the sake corner in the basement. I found "Asakai" and bought it.
I go home, put my bag down, and continue down the hallway. My wife and two daughters were already asleep in the next room, so I gently closed the door and turned on the kitchen light to keep the light out. There is a dinner for one on the table, and it is covered with plastic wrap. I take off the plastic wrap and prepare to eat, prepare a glass, open the Asa, pour it straight into the glass, and sip.
A woman I was working with told me that when she went to Iwate on a business trip the other day, she was so impressed with the local cuisine and the sake that she has been hooked on sake ever since.
I wonder how she is doing, how much fun we had working on that project, etc., as I reminisce about the past and drink a little more sake than usual. I put the dishes away in the sink, brush my teeth, and prepare for bed. After that, I got into the futon next to my eldest daughter and fell asleep.
