I went back to the country for a memorial service and gave my niece some money and she sent me some sake as a thank you. It was wonderful. I heard that she had been to the Anpanman Museum in Kochi.
The gift was a famous sake from Kochi, Shibotan and Minami. Today we will have a glass of Shibotan and bonito.
It is a dry brand of Shibotan's brewery, Funaka Hachisaku. Tonight is a light nigori sake.
The lactic acidity and the fizzy feeling that I often hear in sakénois is like an adult cider.
It does not go well with bonito.
So, when in doubt, warm up the sake.
This is good, excellent. Roughly hard and spicy, but with a distant lactic sweetness.
Today's bonito is not so good, but the nameko mushrooms are delicious. Good sake with good snacks.
Too good, too much to drink.
