This is the first time I bought a dry sake since I started working with Sake no Wa.
I asked for a dry sake at my favorite brewery, Kuboyama Sake Shop, and they introduced me to this "Tobiran Omachi 70" from Nagasaki.
He said there was no other sake like it, so my expectations were high, but I was a little worried because I rarely drink dry sake (laughs).
I brought it to a sushi restaurant and drank it with my work partner. I brought it to a sushi restaurant and drank it with my work partner. The other partner drinks only dry sake, so I bought this one.
I took a sip, and because it was a sake cup, it didn't have much aroma. I put it in my mouth and said, "What? Is this a dry sake? It's certainly light and refreshing, but it doesn't have the spiciness I imagined. If anything, it is quite fruity. The bitterness that I heard about from Kuboyama Sake Store spreads to the palate, so it's citrusy and refreshing, like grapefruit, and delicious!
The person I was working with said it was delicious too, though, so I was hot on its heels.
It was a sake for sushi and fish, so I realized again that it would be easier to pair it with something clean and refreshing.
I'll buy another bottle of Shinran.
