I am intrigued by and prefer the "locally drunk sake" of the honjozo class.
It is in the honjozo class of sake that the quality and individuality of a good brewery's sake can be seen.
This Sogen's Honjozo has a clean and refreshing taste,
It has a unique and distinctive flavor, with a refreshing mouthfeel that has a savory and slightly bitter sweetness, like caramel in pudding.
It is also deep enough to accept strong flavored dishes.
It is a high quality evening sake that warms up nicely.
