Nabeshima Hidden Sake Junmai Ginjo Namaishu
Spec: Blended 50% polished rice Namaishu
Shipping date: 22/1
Favorability (on a 5-point scale): ★4.7
This year's Ura-nabeshima was shipped in three batches, with only the first batch being a nama-shu, the second and third batches being hi-ire, and the breakdown of the blend was all different from the first to the third batches.
This year's Ura-Nabeshima (January lot) has a strong, fresh citrus aroma + umami flavor, and is not as dry as last year's Ura-Nabeshima. This type of sake with a strong aroma tends to have a noticeable bitterness and other unpleasant tastes, but the balance is as perfect as that of Teshu and will go with meals indefinitely.
This was by far the best Nabeshima I've had in the past!
*Supplemented with my impressions of the hi-iri I drank before.
March lot (2nd time): The bitterness is so strong that I thought there was some KITASHIZUKU mixed in... but it goes well with meals (*3.6).
May lot (3rd time): It has a mildness that is typical of Hiiri, and the taste is more well-rounded than the other three (★4.2).
