It is a gift from a sake brewery in Fukui Prefecture. It seems that they have been making sake for overseas recently. This is a new sake. I am looking forward to seeing how it tastes.
The taste is tangy with alcohol and a rich melon-like flavor. It has sweetness and bitterness, with a slight bitterness that comes out when the sake is chilled. When it is brought back to room temperature, the tanginess is gone and the bitterness becomes weaker, so I think it is better to raise the temperature a bit than to cool it down to get a better balance.
I think it goes well with hot food, such as oden.
