ariccyA new brand of Takasami, which is said to challenge Jyushidai's Honmaru, is a raw sake version of Jyushidai's Takasami. No specs are given, but it is believed to be made from honjozo sake. The aroma is relatively mild, with a hint of alcohol and a slight ginjo aroma. The taste is fruity like apple or melon with an elegant sweetness, and it certainly has something in common with the mellow taste of Jyushidai. However, it also has a refreshing taste characteristic of Niigata sake, and I personally think it is more suited to the "refreshingly umakuchi" taste. An excellent sake that is both tasty and cost-effective! I mean, Takachidai is really good at making different brands of sake with different characteristics, isn't he?
