I have been busy with my personal life and have not been able to post at all. I've been out drinking and doing other things, but unfortunately I haven't been able to take any pictures.
Today, my brother's wife sent me a bottle of Daisekkei. And it was a Junmai Daiginjo in a paulownia box, which I wouldn't normally buy.
However, I'm sure everyone here knows that Junmai Daiginjo doesn't necessarily mean it's good. I wondered what it would be like, but it's Daisekkei, after all. The base is different. I remembered that I had bought it before and it was delicious.
Cheers. Well, whatever your preference, it's definitely a delicious sake. It has a good balance. The aftertaste is smooth, with a slight lingering spiciness. It would be a shame to waste it, but I think it would be good served hot.
As it is a Daiginjo, the presence in the mouth may be a little lacking. But it's easy to enjoy. I think you can pair it with anything. It's as good as it gets for its broad base. However, I think the price is probably too high, and I don't think it is a sake I would buy myself. There are other brands with this flavor, and I think you'd be lucky to get it as a gift. It's delicious, though!
