Masanao Matsudaira, the first governor of Miyagi Prefecture, was so impressed by the taste of the sake he drank that he named it "Kenkonichi" in the hope that it would become the best sake in the world.
Kenkun A word derived from the Chinese I Ching, meaning "heaven and earth.
