Hakutsuru-Nishiki is said to be a kind of sibling sake rice to Yamada-Nishiki, having the same parents Yamadaho and Watabune as Yamada-Nishiki. It is said to have been developed with the aim of surpassing Yamada-Nishiki as a sake rice.
The taste is mild, mellow, and clear. Of course it tastes great, but since it is a Junmai Daiginjo from Sakusama, I may have expected a little too much😅.
Also, not that it matters, but I'm kind of glad I got a good picture of it in my mind: ☺️
