It's been more than 10 years since I chose Matsunoi for my second drink at Hikaru-kun's restaurant.
I drank it at a nearby soba noodle shop while changing trains at Tokamachi station on a trip many years ago.
I had never heard of this brand, but I was impressed by its deliciousness. It brings back memories of being impressed by the taste of this unknown brand.
The aroma and taste are mild, and it goes down smoothly.
It has a "do as you please" kind of taste that does not make any strange assertions.
The retro choice of "Takananishiki" is also austere.
This year, we're having grilled saury and memories of old trips as snacks.
