My first outside drinking post in a while. I wasn't that familiar with Yamama, as it doesn't happen to be handled very well at the liquor store near me, but I was under the impression that it was a good, in-order sake 🍶.
There were several brands on the menu, but I ordered this one, partly because the others were brands I've had most of the time.
Since this Niigata sake claims to be "dry," I had imagined it to be a traditional sake with no sweetness and a nice sharp taste, but in a good way, it disappointed my expectations!
The yellow Oni Yamama seems to be a slightly odd brand among the Yamamas, but we enjoyed it very much. ☺️

It has a muscat-like aroma, fruity sweetness, and tartness, as it is made with No. 6 yeast.
Refreshing, not like something that has been aged in autumn. The spiciness from the umami and alcohol is interestingly intertwined there.
Although it is indeed dry, the fruity aroma and taste, combined with the sharpness, made me end up drinking a lot of it!
