This is a Junmai-shu (Junmai sake only available at the brewery) that we received with a ticket from the brewery when we toured the breweries in Saijo earlier in the summer.
Our family is Shinto, so we have a kamidana (altar) at home, and we offer sake only on New Year's Day. We offer it and receive it as a drop-off from the end of our worship.
The sake cup is a curved piece with a diameter of less than 1 cm, and there is no way to properly transfer it from the bottle, so it takes a lot of courage to offer a decent amount of sake. For this reason, I decided to start with a simple Junmai sake at the beginning of the year.
Yes, but it was just right to go with Osechi. Basic. Basic. Have a drunken sake this year, everyone.
