I was looking forward to it as a main course on New Year's Eve, but... it's "aged", you know.
I guess I didn't store it well. ⁉️ Come to think of it, the place I bought it was displaying it carelessly... I was so happy to find it that I didn't think anything of it...
If it's decent, I think it's a sweet but drinkable sake, but I can't do it justice.
I can't do it justice.
GasVari" is a special junmai sake brewed by "Club Gastronomie Variados" (GasVari for short), a group of chefs active in the Hakodate area, who have asked Rokka Shuzo to brew it using "Matsumae," a brand-name rice widely grown in the southern Hokkaido region in the past, which was restored. It is also exported.
It is interesting that Hakodate commissioned a brewery in Aomori Prefecture across the street, rather than a brewery in Hokkaido, as is typical of Hakodate. Indeed, it is only a short ride to Aomori on the Shinkansen.
