The entrée was a great match with the pickled shrimp. They were marinated in Chinese soy sauce and sake, and the flavor combined with the shrimp meat was so delicious. And when that flavor was combined with the sake, it was even more delicious.
If I were to use a Ghibli analogy, it would be Yuko from "From Up On Poppy Hill". She is a friend of Umi, the main character, who eats anpan (buns) and sings solo in the chorus scene near the end. She doesn't stand out, but she is cute. Besides, I would have had a heart attack if I had been in a situation like that where I had to start the performance with my own solo. But she pulls it off without a hitch, and it's amazing.
