I happened to have the opportunity to go to a tasting event at the Sanzen Sakura Sake Brewery, and this was the first time I learned about both the sake brewing company and the sake. The toji-san told me that he was saddened to hear that people are turning away from sake because of the level of sake sold in supermarkets, and that he created this sake in order to raise the level of sake. It is true that this sake tastes much better than other inexpensive sake, even though it is priced at 1,300 yen! Of course, you can smell the brewer's alcohol smell and taste the other flavors, but the sake is well balanced, and considering the cost performance, it is still a great sake.
