I am traveling again around the border between Sanyo and San'in regions. One of the towns that will be my base on this kind of trip is Niimi. Last time I had lunch at the diner in front of the station, but it was closed this time. I couldn't find any other reasonable restaurants and didn't have much time, so I bought some locally brewed sake at a supermarket and drank it. The fresh sweetness of the rice filled my mouth, but it had a sharp throat and a sharp drop in the stomach. Unlike other types of sake, I prefer sake with a shorter production date (this one was made in May 2013). Old sake is too sticky and stubborn for me.
