Our first sake in a year.
At our favorite liquor store, we were given a selection based on the keywords of dryness, fruity aroma, match with sashimi, and delicious cold!
They gave us several candidates, but we fell in love with this one at first sight!
The color is slightly yellow and slightly cloudy.
The scent is fruity, but with a hint of smoke.
When you pour it, there are bubbles in the cup, so it looks like it's fizzing slightly.
When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the fruity aroma strongly.
The flavor is strong, and the tip of the tongue feels a little tingly.
The throat is smooth, but there is a slight bitterness at the bottom.
I paired it with sea bream sashimi today, but it might go better with red tuna or salmon, which have a stronger flavor.
But it was a mismatch with firefly squid pickled in seaweed, so maybe it's too subtle for too rich snacks?
