Brands that have been on my mind since I visited the Sacred Brewery in Shibukawa. This time I slipped into the last three categories 👀. Maikaze is new to me Gunma sake that I come across quite often, Sei. This time it was a Junmai, a reasonably heavy dry sake! My eldest son came back from the U.S. 🇺🇸 for the first time in a year! Today we are going to Ikaho Onsen ♨️ for a family reunion 👪👦! I'm going to compare three different types of sake and give the edge to Sugiyuu! I'm looking forward to seeing what Gunma sake I can find tonight 🍶. Knowledge This sake is brewed with KAZE No. 3, Gunma's yeast, using "Maikaze," Gunma's preferred rice for sake brewing, which is the parent of "Sakebikari," a highly crossbred strain of Yamadanishiki, and "Saga no Hana," a crossbreed of Yamadanishiki and Wakamizu. Alcohol 14-15%. Sake meter degree +13 Rice used: 100% Maikaze produced in Gunma Prefecture Polishing ratio 70%.
