Junmai Daiginjo of Shochikubai, the origin of Takara Shuzo. There is no way a sake from the same company that makes Mio, a very good sake, could be bad!
It has a sweet aroma, a clean mouthfeel, and a good amount of alcohol, and is perfect for lightly flavored New Year's dishes. It is not an exaggeration to say that if you have Osechi and this, you are promised a happy year-end and New Year.
On top of that, the price is very reasonable, and the label on this New Year's sake is gorgeous, so it's become a regular New Year's sake at my parents' house.
We get the leftovers and bring them home, but we like to drink a variety of sake throughout the year, so when we end up with extra, we end up turning it into cooking sake. Instead, I'm going to drink it all these three days!
