Purchased a regular Kouji variety at a supermarket in Chiba.
It has a yellowish color.
The taste is exquisite, with a hint of yellow and a hint of not so yellow. It tastes like old Japanese sake, which may not be to everyone's liking. However, the acidity is quite deep. It is labeled "mellow sake," but it has a malty, aged-like sweetness and just the right amount of spiciness.
I quite like this kind of sake.
I looked up this sake on the Internet and could not find anything about it. All that comes up are refreshing, sweet sake for young people. I remember that a 720 ml bottle cost less than 1,000 yen. I guess they don't put it on their website because only local old men who can't even use the internet would buy it.
