I live in the southern part of Hokkaido (south of Hokkaido, around Hakodate), where there is an abundance of good quality water, and in recent years rice cultivation has become quite popular.
I used to think, "If there is rice and water, why are there no sake breweries? I thought, "If we have rice and water, why don't we have a sake brewery?
Hakodate Jozo, the brewer of Gokpo, was born.
It's still a new brewery, but the Gohou Junmai Comet has a good mouthfeel and you won't get tired of drinking it.
I think it is a very high quality sake. I'm highly satisfied with it, but I'd like to try the rest of the lineup as well.
