I believe Kikusui is a very large brewery that also operates in supermarkets. As an example, Funakuchi is renowned as the strongest sake in convenience stores, and I believe its stable quality and low cost are its main selling points. Kikusui's dry sake seems to be single-fired and freshly stored, and I feel that they are particular about this aspect as well.
My impression is that it has a lot in common with Funakuchi in terms of taste. It tastes sweet and umami, but less fruity than Funakuchi. It has a strong umami taste of rice, so it is easy to pair with dishes that are served with rice.
