The predecessor of this brewery was the one that was in charge of nabeza in the Shimousa area. In the Genroku period (1688-1704), the Sakura Clan, which ruled this area, gave the brewery shares and began brewing sake in front of the Narita Mountain gate, known as "Narita no Ofudo-sama. It is said that at that time, long-established breweries were called "Onana," and the name "Nabe-ten" was derived from the combination of "Nabe-za" and "Onana," thus giving the brewery the name "Nabe-ten.
