Prices are so high these days, I can't stand it.
So, here is the fourth installment of the "Cheap and Good Sake" series.
This is the fourth in the series. There is no label on the bottle, but it is probably Honjozo, and costs about 1,200 yen for a 4-pack.
The overall flavor is mainly cider, but there is also a hint of sea minerals and saltiness. That's what makes it an adult cider.
The brewery is said to be making sake in Fukushima and Yamagata prefectures, both of which have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami. This one seems to be from the Nagai brewery in Yamagata Prefecture, reminding me of a visit I made two years ago to Namie-cho, Fukushima Prefecture, where the earthquake and tsunami hit the Kakedo Elementary School. It reminds me of the blackboard message.
