The aroma is basic sake type. It is a "delicious" sake with a complex combination of sweetness, bitterness, richness, umami, and acidity. It is a Kuroryu, after all, and even though it is a rich sweet sake, it has a dignified appearance, or perhaps a sense of dignity with a straightened collar. Is it because of its high alcohol content? (18%) Is it sweet but spicy? It's hard to describe, but it is a solitary existence different from anything else.... The official description says it is light nigorigo, but the degree of nigorigo is only faint.
We had to empty our refrigerator a little in preparation for the Takashimaya sake festival we plan to attend next week, so we decided to open a relatively fat bottle of this one. However, I can't buy 5 or 10 bottles in the checkout basket like the people around me on the day of the festival, and with the heat wave continuing, I want to keep as much fire-brewed sake in the fridge as possible. It's a bit of a quandary...
