This year, we were lucky enough to be able to purchase this bottle, which we were unable to purchase last year, so we immediately opened the bottle.
Frankly speaking, this sake was even better than expected. I am not a big fan of summer sake, but this one had the dry, effervescent feeling of summer sake, and along with the cool, refreshing sensation, I could taste the delicious flavor of Yamadanishiki, which is different from Sharaku or Tenbi, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is also dry, so while it has the sweetness of Yamadanishiki, it does not have a sticky feel. We had it with broiled eel, and it matched the sweetness and spiciness of the eel sauce, making it a perfect food sake.
This was the first time for me to try Nabeshima's Moon series, but I felt that Nabeshima is a quintessential sake, and I would very much like to try their other varieties.
