I got a bottle of sake from the Kobayashi Shuzo brewery in Hokkaido, which is sold exclusively at their brewery. I love the Hokuto Zuisho brand of sake produced by this brewery, so it was no surprise that a 35% polished junmai daiginjo from the same brewery would be as delicious as it promised to be.
In fact, it has a taste typical of Hokkaido sake, with a hint of sweetness and a clear mouthfeel with no acidity.
There are so few modern sakes that it is hard to talk about them, but I think Hokkaido sake is the best sake to drink with food.
