Chokki
Ayuyu Masamune Hatsuyuu Junmai Ginjyo Nama Shu
50% 16% 720ml 1870yen
Sake from Myoko, Niigata. The transparent bottle is beautiful. The ayu fish on the bottle looks like it is about to start moving.
The first sip after opening the bottle.
It is fresh. The first sip is quite good, with a green apple-like sweetness.
For a Niigata sake, it has a strong sweet taste. The label says "sweet" but the aftertaste is crisp and Niigata-like. The sake strength is -1.
The alcohol content is 16%, but it is so refreshing that it does not seem strong.
The rice used is Takananishiki.
The sake is a little too floral when drunk in several sips, but it still scores highly.
The price is expensive (over 1800 yen), so I would like to try the Hatsuayu Honjozo as well.
