I had to take a short business trip to a nearby prefecture for train reasons, and when I returned home, all the restaurants in the neighborhood had been destroyed, so I slipped into an izakaya. Miraculously, the last order was 2 minutes before. The weather was not so clear, so I thought it would be rude not to drink sake in front of the sashimi, but there was no time before closing time, In the end, I drank almost all of the beer and decided to have some Hakurakusei. The lack of refinement and modesty is at a level that would surprise even Goro Inokashira. This was my first Hakurakusei. I was excited to taste the ultimate food sake, and sure enough, it was delicious. The first thing I noticed was the fresh green apple aroma, followed by a dry, sweet and bitter (but not dry) flavor that lingers on the palate for a short while. Overall, it is very light, and because it cuts through quickly, it does not linger on the tongue. I wonder if this is the reason why it is a food sake. If I were to say that it is not impressive, I would say that it is thin, but it gently enhances the food without interfering with it. It is true that this sake by itself may not be very strong, but it seems to go well with delicate Japanese food, and I have a feeling that it will enhance the food. On the other hand, if the taste is strong or the smell is strong, the aroma and flavor will interfere with each other, which is a pity. I'm about to be kicked out, so I'm done.
