Today, after buying new sake from my favorite brewer at the sake shop, I went to the Railway Expo at the Expo Park with Karin for a walking tour.
I don't particularly like trains, but when I went to Iwakuni this summer, I took the Iwakuni Seiryu Line from Iwakuni to Nishikicho to buy Kinjaku, and I heard that Iwakuni sake would also be on display 😀.
Unfortunately, I did not win the lottery for the right to buy a bottle of Kinjaku 🤣.
We had lunch at the Expo Park with ekiben from the venue and horumon udon from the kitchen car, and the sake to go with it was Five White by Gobashi in Iwakuni... a sake we had bought from a brewery in Iwakuni and brought back with us😇.
The other Fives have always been made to the same specs, but the White is the only one that can be changed to any color, so it seems to be made to different specs every year, and the specs are undisclosed 🤣.
According to the information I received from Mr. Nakama, the Toji of Gobashi, it is an assemblage of Nishitoshizuku and Yamadanishiki and is Junmai Ginjo.
The aroma is a fruity mix of banana and citrus, and the taste is sweet and fruity with a citrusy acidity that accentuates the sharpness of the sake.

Your recent trip was by car, so you probably didn't have a chance to use the local train, but it was a nice and quaint train and well worth the ride😇.
