I like wine as well as sake.
I am interested in sake that is stored in oak barrels used for making red wine, so I immediately went for this one.
I am confident that if I drank it without knowing anything about it, I would never be able to answer that it was sake. The appearance, aroma, and taste all suggest a wine-like quality, so it doesn't really feel like sake.
The color is just a tint, so it's more white than red, but when you drink it, it feels almost like a red. I guess that means the flavors have been properly transferred.
The sake-like sensation is not strong, and it spreads a little at the moment you take a sip, but it quickly fades away. I wonder if the acidity from the white malt is another factor that makes it seem like wine.
There are so many different kinds of sake, and I never get tired of them.
The high road is good, but I'd like to challenge myself to try out different kinds of sake as well.
