Tottori is known for its heated sake. But now that the emphasis on "typa" has spread to the older generation, the practice of heating sake has fallen by the wayside, and it has become commonplace to enjoy sake quickly and cold.
Tottori, however, has not surrendered to the cold sake crowd. The breweries and consumers have an unusual love for heated sake, and the entire prefecture has joined forces to make it a popular drink.
