warm and mild
It's getting cold, so I thought I'd try some heated sake. So we went to Nikomizukeru, a famous restaurant in front of Okayama Station. I'm a beginner at heating sake, so I left it to the waiter. I had it at about the same temperature as the top of the bottle.
It has a very mild taste. The mild acidity comes through as you feel the warmth. The aroma is a mixture of steam and alcohol, and the flavor is not too strong, but it finishes nicely.
In contrast to the crisp Sankan, which was also served, it is mellow and easy to drink. We served it with stewed motsu (pork cutlet), beef chiret, etc. Great. I would like to enjoy heated sake from now on.
