The first Koei Kiku, I rushed to buy it when I heard about its arrival.
I was right to open the bottle while holding the lid with my hand, and the cork blew off with a pop.
It tasted sour and astringent like grapefruit juice. The alcohol content is 15%, but it feels lighter than that.
There is a lactic acidity in the aftertaste, but it is light and smooth with a pleasant astringent taste. It is a fruity and easy-to-drink sake.
