Harukoi is my favorite of the many peach-colored nigori that come out in spring sake. The pink color is darker than last year and looks lovely.
When the bottle is opened, it rises sizzlingly, although it is not vigorous until it starts to blow out.
The aroma is slightly sweet and sour. I wonder if it is strawberry after all...or is it being pulled?
When I take it in my mouth, it feels like a shaken, shwishey and smooth 🫧I enjoy the semi-solid texture while feeling the sweet and sour flavor, and then it's sweet! I swallow it before I even think "sweet! The fizzy sensation also helps to finish it off with a surprisingly refreshing taste.
I drink more and more before thinking about what to think...it's delicious. Sweet and sour, but still rice.
It's like a smoothie, but without the mushiness. Strawberry Daifuku smoothie? It's not so subtle when I write it down, but the taste of the sweetness of the bean paste and the sourness of the strawberries might be similar somehow.
I made a caprese with strawberries, burrata cheese, and prosciutto ham, and it was perfect as always 🍓.
I think it is a drink that everyone can enjoy, even those who are not good at sweet drinks but can enjoy sweet food.
