It has a strong fruity aroma, a slightly mellow mouthfeel, pleasant acidity and sweetness, and a relatively strong umami. It is refreshing, but finishes with a slightly lingering aftertaste.
On October 1, Sake Day, I had a chance to visit Matsusen on business, so I made a desperate effort to go there after work. It was close to closing time.
There was a lineup of famous sake from all over Japan, including Niigata's "Abe," which is rarely seen anywhere else, but since I was at Matsusen, I decided to try something I couldn't find anywhere else. Among the many varieties, I chose this one with a light blue label.
