Fuji Shuzo, the brewer of Izumo Fuji, was established in 1939 in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. The brewery is located in the Izumo Plain, which is protected by the eight million gods. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the brewery in 2019, the label was renewed. With the spirit of sake brewing, "brewing Izumo and aspiring to Fuji," in mind, the label expresses the image of clouds, which have a special meaning in the land of Izumo, connecting with each other to form "En.
Izumo is known as the birthplace of Japanese sake, and the Izumo Plain was formed by the Hii River, which was the model for the eight-headed serpent that flows from the Chugoku Mountains. Sandwiched between the Sea of Japan and the Chugoku Mountains, Izumo is a treasure trove of food, overflowing with seasonal ingredients.
As the local sake of Izumo, which links people with people and food with people, we aim to brew honest and pure sake that makes the most of the characteristics of the rice.
