I went on a tour of the Hachinohe Sake Brewery, the brewery that produces the "Mutsu-Hassen" brand of sake, because they've reopened their doors to visitors. It was actually supposed to be reopened to Aomori Prefecture residents only, but Iwate Prefecture residents were given the OK by way of a special exception! (Laughs) They used a DVD to introduce the brewery as a corona countermeasure, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. At the tasting, we tasted mainly the young master brewer's challenge brands, but the rice grown in the brewery's own paddy fields was used to make a low quality sake. The sake brewed with polished rice left a strong impression on me. It has a fruity taste despite the low-polished rice, and the bitterness of low-polished rice. It was a drink that said, "You're doing it!" (*^^^^^^)
