Weekend trip to Fukui for full course crab dinner and the Dinosaur Museum. On the way, we stopped by Eshikoto, a new brewery and facility of the Kuroryu Sake Brewery. The children accompanying us were politely sent home, as they were not allowed to enter the facility for minors. We decided to buy two bottles of sake, but were too scared to buy the Kuroryu Junmai Daiginjo, which was over 10,000 yen. I decided to try Sakahomare sake and bought this one. The ingredients are all from Fukui. The aroma reminded me of the clear water from a freshly opened pack of yogurt from the supermarket. The sweetness comes in the first sip and is quickly followed by the punch of alcohol. The taste of rice could be felt in the second sip. The black dragon flavor comes after the first sip. I am grateful to be able to drink this at home on a Sunday afternoon. Someday, I'd like to try some Ishida-ya or something like that.

The gentle attack of the rounded Kuroryu Ado is pleasant on a tired throat after work. It comes in light and later becomes more assertive, giving the drink a satisfying feel.
